Now camping at Cherry Hinton with Non Genetic Family Sue and Rae, Laura and Rick, and Eva and Philip enjoying some changeable english weather and excellent music.
Over the past eight weeks we've been travelling through France with a couple of stopovers at Mum and Dad's house near Monflanquin in the Lot et Garonne.
Heading out from the UK on the 19th May we first stopped at Gravelines near Dunquerke on the Le Port Aire which was so nice (and free) that we stayed for a few days to explore Grande and Petite Port Phillipe on the bikes. A couple of mishaps resulted in losing one set of van keys and a broken kindle, our means of staying in touch with irresistible free international roaming.
With good weather forecast we couldn't resist travellingSouth West as close to the coast as possible so wended our way through Boulogne, Le Havre, Deauville (I wasn't allowed in the Casino) Trouville and on to Arromanches sur Mer where we joined in the 76th D Day Commemoration. A weekend of fireworks, speeches, and enthusiasts flying round the local roads in all manner of WW2 vehicles with sirens wailing.
On to Mont St Michel where we actually paid to stop over for a couple of nights on a private Aire where we could cycle to the UNESCO listed village and cathedral on the Mount in the Bay.
After a slightly embarassing squeeze though the Port of Dinan (blame the navigation software) we found an Aire beneath the viaduct from where we could explore the beautiful mediaeval town of Dinan.
